Getting Back Into Gold

Well folks, I exited gold between $1060 and $1080 USD per ounce exiting in portions. Now, I plan to start getting back in in to my full size position.



Above is a daily chart of gold. MACD shows a crossover just as we start to get the recent rallies in gold. The exponential moving averages are starting to make bullish crossovers as well. The hammer at $1040 stands out as a strong support level....

Just wanted to post a quick chart of GLD, the ETF tracking the price of gold.



The daily chart shows the moving averages are getting set to crossover, but price action still looks bearish to me -- if I were shorting, I'd take a closer look at shorting gold at the upper trendline highlighted in the chart. what abt a gold price of $8,000 in 2013/2014 and a dow-gold-ratio of 1 : 1? just crazy fantasy, you think? well, that's the number james turk (founder + CEO of www.goldmoney.com) gave barron's in an interview in 2003, i think (i'm too lazy to google the web right know 2 provide a link, so pls just believe it or not ~ it's up 2 u ... LOL)....

I'm in the process of adjusting my overall exposure to the market, which I'll blog more about shortly. Gold is the centerpiece of my overall approach.

I'm going to buy more gold now, although I'll keep a fairly close eye on this. If we break below these trendlines, I'll be out for a while. If we do break below these trendlines, I'll be more convinced that we're in for a repeat of some sorts of October 2008 -- US dollar rally, global equities fall. However, the sovereign debt crisis...
