folks, do u see that unbelievable increase in monetary base? can u also imagine that nasty hyper-inflation monster coming here and eat us alive?
=> is that just an InformedChart or already a PointOfNoReturn ???

(source: st. louis fed
)
damned hell! that's worse than in zimbabwe, argentina, germany (after WW1 + WW2), russia, hungary, ... COMBINED, isn't it?
(addendum, december 19,2009) next chart added, IMO is the overall situation shown even much more sad than in the 1st picture, because it begins 40 years earlier:

what 2 do facing these monstrous 'market conditions'? well, i think the best solution is to buy some hard/real assets which cannot be printed out of thin air like paper money ~ commodities, (fair priced!) real estate + farm land, gold + silver [= money of market's choice over thousands of years], revenue generating business, ... and last but not least: to spend some money + time with family + friends
, not just because family&friends could become a real/hard asset in times where we will need to help each other to survive :-)
good luck ;-)

I like your way of thinking. I agree we should all own some hard/real assets.
Also if you are handy, investment real estate in a good location is good to own. Passive income is another way to financial freedom and also a way to stay on top of inflation. Spending quality time with family and friends should be what it is all about. Very well put.
Take care

hi JBN,
thx 4 your kind comments .... yep, real estate and monthly payments from your tenants is a nice thing. if they would pay enough 2 cover all my monthly expenses i wouldn't had to go to work anymore
i've read kiyosaki's rich dad, poor dad recently and since that time i'm often thinking about how to get others to pay month after month for a property which would later belong to me and generate steady passive income over the years ... as kiosaki mentioned, it is often smart to look for real estate offers on foreclosures, which are more and more common these days ... if i would sell some of my stocks i could even afford to pay some initial property payment (10-20%) on a smaller flat right now but i'm still not ready to take the risks aligned ... especially because my neighbor had a really bad luck and got a tenant, who moves from flat to flat without paying the rent anywhere or only for few months in the beginning.... she has occupied his flat more than a year and it costs soooo much money and effort to get such a person out of your property in germany
...
well, real estate is still very expensive in munich, but maybe it will become cheaper if the financial crisis continues its development ... and if i should have the money needed then i will for sure consider that option
btw, i've posted a short summary about this interesting + funny kiyosaki's book on my old blog in may

WOW. I like the dollar becoming nothing. Then we can burn them like paper. Hyperinflation in Zimbabwe is at 2000000%. So the Zimbabwe dollar is 20000 times weaker now.
How you like that happening to the buck. The FED will pay for its ignorance. We just need 1 damned default on the debts then bye bye buck.
I like that to happen soon. Not sarcastic.Posted 07-26-2009 at 02:11 AM by forexer

hi forexer
well, my investment strategy is to bet against the usd, €ur and other fiat currencies. therefore is my portfolio loaded up with gold / silver / (green) energy / commodity stocks .... but i do worry that we will not enjoy the process of collapsing of the USD. why? i think there will be much nasty noise as USA will try to preserve its position as the world leader (strange regulations, war, monetary reform, ...?) as every empire in history of this planet did, because nobody wants to voluntarily transfer its power to upcoming nations (china?)Quote:WOW. zimbabwe dollar?
folks, zimbabwe dollar is history! joined all the other fiat currencies on the small dirty paper currencies cementary
the folks in zimbabwe use just foreign currency now: rand, usd, €ur, gbp, ..
which currency will follow the zimbabwe dollar next?
my favourite among the major (western) currencies gbp, usd, €ur? none, as i think they will collapse all together !!!
good-bye fiat money, pls never come back
