hell, what happened 2 my investing / trading recently?

Updated 12-19-2009 at 01:20 PM by jaro g. (inserted blog categories + enhanced stock purchase :-))

folks, there are sooooo many reasons why i do not trade / invest / follow the markets / write / ... as before!
  • first of all, i do follow social media websites like twitter, facebook, xing, youtube etc. soooo often and soooo long that i simply do not have much time left
  • i've already invested all available money in the last few months / weeks. btw, my last stock purchase was the exercise of my rio tinto warrants on july 1st and a small addendum 2 my existing positions cbh resources + cardero resources on 7/15/2009 (see comment #3). well, there are no additional investment funds currently and i'm also not going 2 sell my gold / silver / green energy / commodity / technology stocks yet ... why not? hmmmmm, i'm waiting till the DJIA will quote @ about 1 or 2 oz gold. 'cos the DJIA/gold ratio fell bellow 9 recently it could take some more time, couldn't it?
  • i still haven't found any peace of mind because of soooo much nonsense & injustice in my daily office job (i'm a software developer, u still remember that?)
  • i do know that i'm not the super-duper talented market timer so i do not try to do much noise in my CFD trading account anyway ... i hope i have a comfortable margin coverage now (approx. 2,000 €uros) so i just add 2 my commodity positions like silver / natural gas / sugar / orange juice / coffee if i believe the prices are damned low ... and in the most cases the damned prices become even lower so i buy even more of that stuff ... did i read too much about jim rogers lately?
  • i do not use to sit so many hours in front of my pc as before
  • folks, is it prolly a combination of all of that? who knows

    world events affecting trading

    Certainly Jaro.
I remember the turnoil in your office. Many factors can be very distracting/ disturbing. Im sure many of us can share some hard luck stories. Im my own case Im not going to do that... if I did.. I could make a bartender cry.
I try to think of "trading" as the "answer" to the financial problems the world throws at us. Sure we all have different styles, techniques, opinions etc. Some of us are right, and some of us are wrong.
I hope your company is smarter than mine. When we have a useless employee, we make them a supervisor, gets then out of the way. Why dont you try that technique.
    Always a pleasure.

    thx 4 your support, jerry

let's hope the best for our companies and for us, but i'm sure that we have to take care for ourselves {like in trading:} as our companies will not ...

    hey Jaro,

Do you analyze companies for their financial performance and then invest accordingly. I noticed you like cheap, undervalued stocks with a low P/E ratio and a high EPS.

How long do you plan to hold those commodity stocks? When they get over valued again then you'll sell them?

    Very interesting plan man

    dow-gold-ratio

    hi forexer :-),

my investment strategy is to bet against the usd, €ur and other fiat currencies. therefore is my portfolio loaded up with gold / silver / (green) energy / commodity stocks. there are also few IT leaders like microsoft + google and 7 munich-based companies, which allows me to culinary improve my yearly dividends @ the AGM's ;o). facing all these 'stimulus' packages (~ reckless increase of debt + money supply) i do feel more and more confident that my strategy could succeed soon ... and even without any country bankruptcies & monetary reforms the world will still need commodities, isn't it?

when 2 sell? well, i'm really waiting till the DJIA will 'cost' about 1 or 2 ounces gold. there is a corresponding 100-years-chart concerning the dow-gold-ratio included in my profile photos, so you could easily draw a line to see the time when it will happen

    thx 4 your feedback :-),
