Default Trading a trending down market

David,
Help, apparently I am missing something.

I do not understand the technique of trading
the down market and making money.

Buying at the top of a chart and selling at the bottom to me,
is subtraction in its simplest form.

Will you explain or point me to the video, post or link,
that explains how you trade a trending down market.

In the stock market it's called going short.

Is there such a term used in the Forex?

Hello cashukid..

I know your question was addressed to David. But if it's no problem, I wouldnt mind answering to it.

In FOREX,, we trade with pairs of currencies (one goes long.. other goes short)

Example..
When you enter a Euro/US dollar pair.. You are going long on Euro... But when you sell it... You will be going long with US dollar.

So... in the case of the Euro/US pair
Short Euro.. means sell euro.. and you will proft as the dollar rises..

Have a good day

Thank you for that answer.

As I am just getting started with my Forex trading knowledge.

Was over looking this very obvious point.

Loosing sight of the two currencies side by side.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

Hi Guys,

First my thanks to Daniel for helping out on this one this is exactly the type of participation that I am hoping to see more of. I feel that if we can get a good community going of traders helping traders like we are seeing here we can all benefit from the collective knowledge of the group, so I am excited to see this starting to take shape.

Cashukid if you or anyone else would like more information on currency rate movements there is also a video on this below:

Forex Trading - Understanding Currency Rate Movements

Best Regards,
Dave
