I am new here and looking to start trading with VSA. I am interested in trading wheat and /or es mini. What are the best time frames to be looking at for day trading? 3-5-10 charts? All help/comments are welcome at this juncture.
Thanks in advance ![]() Power Broker |

One of the best day trader we had here at IFT only traded appl on small time frames like 1min, I think. He used the basics of VSA which will, of course, help any trader become better. But to get the most from commodities traded on the futures market, I believe a swing trading methodology would be better. You can take advantage of the weekly COT Report, incorporate Wyckoff's methodologies and use VSA to its full potential.
Do you have Tom Williams book? And, Power, welcome to IFT!!! |

[QUOTE=Power Broker;560769]K gonna put the VSA thing on the back burner 4 now. I wanna trade however I cannot seem to figure out the time frames for day trading. I need some help over here!!!
Thanks in advance PowerBroker[/QUOT You can trade any time frame using VSA it depends on what type of trading you what to do Scap, interday or swing ! Try different time frame on sim untile you find what works. You have to be put in the time in order to get the results. I was on sim for over a year be for I figured it out. And im still not where I want to be, but I will be because I wont give up! Dont be in a hurry to trade you have to put in the time or you will loose your money and or get discouraged and quit.

Thanks for the reply slow. I am not going to use VSA right now. Its just to much to remember at once. I am going to try to concentrate on trading on the mini dow to start off so I can get my feet wet as it were. I will keep on trying different time frames as you suggested. I don't think I want to try to scalp tho. I am looking for longer moves and 4-7 points or more at a time. I make about 200 an hour right now doing my other business so to scalp to try to make 50-100 at a time is not worth it to me.

I am not going to trade live until I have figured out what will get me the points I am looking for. I am a win/win guy. I don't lose!!! If I can't master it I won't do it at all. I work to hard for my money..Actually the reason I want to trade..LMAO I'd rather click the mouse than run the grinder. I only work work 6 months a year, so I wanted to find a way to make money in my off season..LOTS OF IT!!!! Don't get me wrong here I am in no way unrealistic about my goals or about what I can or should do in the market. I am not scared of it at all. I just believe in having ALL the information before doing the business of it. I have done all the video's in here except forex. I am not interested in it. Dave's vid's have brought me right up to speed.. I have tried all of the indicators. Not real crazy about those either... Need some help on that note.. What indicators and/or settings for them are best to use in shorter time charts ie. 1-3-5-10?
