Default Everyone should own gold mine stock

Sphereless posted about how he loves metals and owns mining stock it gave me the idea to post this.

I have talked about this in the past but here it is again. I feel everyone one should own mining stock even if its a little bit in these uncertain times. Sphereless says he owns silver mining and I own Glod mining stock. The reason behind my thought is past histoy during the last crash the great depression Homestake Mines and other minnig stocks were the only stocks that boomed and were giving over 500% returns if you hadowned that stock before the crash. Here is an article you should read.

Gold Stocks and Gold Price During the Great Depression

Intersting ,thanks for the link .

Would a gold ETF work as well ?

For some reason gold seems to be moving up with the market ,almost a countertrend indicator ,,,how i ask ?

Money is flowing into gold AND the general market ,there is a limited supply of money,so it will top out somewhere .Imo ??

I have been looking at a gold ETF as a hedge to the s&p ,It is normally a hedge ,but not now .

It is really a unique market when countertrend etf move with the market ?

Thanks ,

Tommy

Tommy I know nithing about ETF's im trying to learn and understand them now. As for metals having a top, I believe the sky is the limite in these economic times. We are living in unpesidented times that really no one knows the outcome not even the brightest of the bright really know. And even they are saying we are screwed. So where do you put you money? Realestate, I say no because you have property taxes to pay that you know are going up. And when do you buy realestate? Where is the real bottom? So I say Gold, Silver and Commodities.
