Thumbs up FXCM Trading Station II - Charts

Hi,

My question is very easy :

Is there a way to open a Heikin Ashi chart ?

I would like to put it under my "standard" candlestick chart...

I hope it is possible and someone will be able to help me.

BR,
Fabrice.

P.S. By the way David, this website is the best I have seen yet.

On FXCM, i guess not. What is "Heikin Ashi" anyway? Is it a type of chart or of a stock?

It is a chart style that is similar to candlesticks, but is calculated differently.
Heikin Ashi is Japanese for 'Average Bar.'

I am sorry, but I do not think you can do this at this time.

Cheers

Hello Forexer, and thanks for your fast reply.

Heikin Ashi is a candlestick chart, but with a different calculation. To make it easy, let's say it is a moving average in a candlestick view. I don't use it yet, because I am a scalper and I go out with targets. But as I start to see market's movment on a longer period, I am looking for other tools to go out or take my pips.

Hi Tekmnd,

What an active forum !!! Wow...

I can do it online with the "Powercharts" and the "Netdania".

So, is it possible to switch my Marketscope for one of these two ?

P.S. I am a FX Trading Station II new user (a few days), but I already start to like it better than MT4.

I am not sure. I forwarded the question to Jason, our FXCM Ambassador.

Ice Man-

Welcome to the best trading site on the net!

You can download FXCM's MT4 Platform through Boston Technologies for free here:

LConnection MT4 download link: http://www.bostontechnologies.com/do...s/lc4setup.exe

You can also download one from FXDD (or Alpari) for free as well - but keep in mind the time-zone offsets and that, for charting, FXCM uses 6 days/week and FXDD 5.

BTW, here is a comparison of a Heikin Ashi Chart to a regular one on the CADJPY from Friday 6/26/09:
(Remember, folks: Post charts!!)

Notice how in this HA chart, it is more "smooth"- since HA candles are an average, you don't get the "detail" of the traditional chart but it is also sometimes easier to see trends/reversals.

Good luck!

Hi Ice Man,

Heiken Ashi is not available on the Marketscope charts unfortunately, but it is available on our MT4 platform.

If you're talented with programming, we have an SDK available for marketscope if you want to create custom indicators such as Heiken Ashi, or we have a programming services department that can program indicators for you. There is a cost for programming services, but we give 5 free hours to all gold clients if you qualify for the gold program.

Jason
