Default Commodities

I have been trying to get in to the online trading business for some time and but I some advise which brings me here.

My cousin has an online business and told be about a business strategy he uses which is purchasing his product in bulk and selling it in bits, he makes a quite a handsome living by doing this and I was wondering if this strategy would work with Commodities as well? Commodities like live cattle or corn.

I would also like to have your opinion of cmcmarkets.com

I would greatly appreciate you input, thank you.

Hi Spiderweb,

Glad to hear from you. What is sounds like is that your cousin is involved in using the internet to actually trade goods and services as in from a commerce standpoint.

This site is an online trading site in the sense that we are speculating on the price of financial instruments but do not get involved with the actual goods and services those financial instruments represent. With this being said there are many people who operate as you have stated buying commodities in bulk and then selling them on an individual basis for more than they have paid.

CMC is a big and well known firm which from what I have seen recieves mixed reviews. You can find my opinion on which brokers to trade with located here.

Hope that helps.

Best Regards,
Dave

I should probably add that there are quite a few ETFs now which you can research that trade commodities like a stock - the advantage of this is that you don't need a large sum of money in order to do so.
