As a direct result of our community member's effort and willingness to share their knowledge InformedTrades has gone from a site with zero members and no traffic to close to 5000 members and over 3000 visitors a day. While I think everyone should be very proud of this growth, now that our model of free trading education and leveraging the power of the community has been proven, I think it is also important that we see this as only the beginning.

With this in mind I am pleased to announce three new programs which are designed leverage the power of our community to take it to the next level, and give those who are willing additional incentives to help do so.

The InformedPoints Program

Our mission here at InformedTrades is to help people learn, and InformedPoints are a way to build on this important philosophy. InformedTrades Members now have the opportunity to earn points for helping others learn, which can then be used to purchase educational products and services which will increase their own knowledge. By rewarding activities which facilitate learning with additional opportunities to learn, we hope to increase the educational power of our community for all involved.

Starting today each member of InformedTrades will be given an account which is tied to their username, where they can earn InformedPoints for tasks which add value to the community, and help us grow. InformedPoints are are a fun way to help all of us further our learning, with 10 points equaling 1 US Dollar, and can be spent on any product or service in the InformedTrades Store.

It is important to note that InformedTrades Points should be thought of as game money -- not a real store of value. In terms of practical implications, this means the following:

1. InformedTrades reserves the right to modify its points system at any time
2. InformedTrades reserves the right to reprice its exchange rate with the US dollar at any time

So this is should be thought of as a way of a fun way to get rewarded for learning -- not a form of wealth storage and investment planning.

The InformedTrades Community Store

The [link=[b]]InformedTrades Store is a place where traders can come and purchase products and services which will help them learn, and carry the recommendation of either myself, or one of our other valued members. As there are only so many products and services that I can try out myself, we are going to be relying on our community members to make recommendations as to what should be added to the store. With this in mind, when a member earns enough InformedPoints to purchase a trading related product or service that they have been wanting which is not in the store, the can simply request it to be added.

How You Earn InformedPoints

Points are awarded to members on a daily basis for making quality contributions to the site. In the near future, a list of projects will be declared (such as creating educational content or doing product reviews), and qualified members can complete them to earn InformedPoints. In this way the entire community is enriched.

Hi David,

Just a quick line to say that this is a capital idea. Having come to the site via Shoots Vids, exploring it, registering, etc I'm starting to post and look forward to being able to post helpful info (mostly about profits one hopes lol).

The informed points are definitely a great idea to move the site forward.
