High Probability Trading (Hardcover)

Default High Probability Trading (Hardcover)

Trader Marcel Link gives perhaps the best start to finish book on trading for beginners that I have read. I do not believe that one can learn trading from simply reading one book but this comes about as close to offering all the knowledge that is needed in one place as I have seen. Everything from what every trader should know before getting into trading, to specific trading strategies, to money management, to trading psychology.

I'm about 100 pages into this book and agree it's very good. I've read several other books that were published after this one and so far this one is the superior choice. I can already tell that I'm going to have to re-read it to absorb all the information.

Hey Rocketman7,

Glad you are liking it and thanks for posting. One of the things that I am hoping to accomplish with this section is exactly this type of thing - community members providing feedback on what is good and what isn't so we can leverage our collective knowledge for the benefit of the entire community.

Best Regards,
Dave

Default High Probability Trading

Hello Rocketman7 and Dave,

I just read Kathy Liens book and benefited greatly, for those new to Trading Forex this is a must have. I am still Demo Trading Forex but plan to go live in the next month or so. Can you tell me if I will find specific strategies of signals to enter and exit trades in the "High Probability Trading" book?? Is the book geared more to Forex, Equities or can it be applied pretty much universally?
Is the authors background in Forex or Equities?
Any other recommendations on where I can find very specific trading strategies is appreciated.

Thanks!

KP

Default Liens Book

Hi Dave,

Being you are so familiar with FXCM, could you tell me if the Day Trading Course they offer is pretty much the same as what is found in Kathy Liens book?

Hey KP,

Glad to hear from you.

High probability trading is a book on stock trading but I think you will find that most of what the book covers is relevant to any market, including the forex market.

One of the things I like best about this book is that he covers the specific strategies he uses and setups he likes to look for so it sounds like it is right up your alley.

Best Regards,
Dave

Hey KP,

No, FXCM's courses unless they have changed since I was there were put together by another team of people at FXCM so the material covered should be different. I would recommend double checking that with them however since it has been several months since I was there just to make sure that hasn't changed.

Best Regards,
Dave

Hey KP,
I'm a little embarrassed to say that I still haven't finished the book. But I have a good excuse: a four year old, a almost two year old, and a newborn. I am, however, about 200 pages into it and I agree with Dave's comments. Marcel Link has a website Link Futures The Commodity Resource Center though it doesn't have much information on it, it does have an email address for the author if you wanted to try to contact him.
Good luck,
rocketman7
