The New York Stock Exchange or NYSE for short, is the largest stock exchange in the world by dollar trading volume. The New York Stock Exchange is located at 11 Wall Street and is the main reason why people refer to Wall Street as the center of Finance in the United States. Unlike the NASDAQ and other fully electronic markets, trades on the New York Stock Exchange flow through to humans on the floor of the exchange called specialists, who are responsible for matching buyers and sellers.
