Default ADX Question

I have been following several stocks using the ADX , I have my -DI above 30 and my ADX above 25 with the +DI at 15, would this not be a strength indication that this down trend is real? I used several other indicators to back up my ADX signal. I really like your forum and classes. I have learned alot about ADX from your site.

Hi RW,

Glad to hear from you and thank you for the compliment I am glad you like the site.

A -DI value of 30 and an ADX value of 25 would normally be indicative of a market that is trending downward which should also be visible by looking at the price action of the chart.

As far as how strongly the market is trending generally anything above 20 is considered to be a trending market with anything above 40 and rising on the ADX considered to be a strongly trending market.

Hope that helps. If there are any other questions or comments on this one please feel free to post as always.

Best Regards,
Dave
