Default Nokia Siemens appoints new CFO, head of strategy

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Nokia Siemens Networks, the telecommunications-equipment joint venture of Nokia Corp. and Siemens AG , appointed Luca Maestri as its new chief financial officer, replacing Eric Simonsen. Maestri, who is currently the CFO of General Motors Europe, will join NSN on Oct. 1 and assume the role of CFO on Nov.1. Simonsen will start his retirement in December. NSN also appointed a new head of strategy and business development Thursday, Michael Matthews, to replace Pekka Soini, who becomes the head of the corporate development office. Matthews joins from Amdocs, a provider of software and services for the telecommunications industry, where he was chief marketing officer. "Luca and Michael bring the rights skills, experience and values to help complete our integration work at Nokia Siemens Networks and take the company to the next level," said CEO Simon Beresford-Wylie.
